Efren Pérez

President, Belize Tourism Industry Association

An avid travel and tourism professional, Mr. Perez has served in various capacities within the travel industry in Belize, most recently from 2016 - 2024 as the President of the BTIA Corozal Chapter. In his role, he is responsible to work with local and regional authorities to promote sustainable tourism to Belize. In 2023, Mr. Perez was appointed as the Official representative of the BTIA on the Federation of Chambers of Tourism of Central America (FEDECATUR). Under this role, Mr. Perez has been activing working on building tourism networking alliances between Central American countries, Mexico and Belize, with the aim of enhancing cross-border tourism to Belize. These strategic exchanges also look sharing of best practices, identifying new tourism products and building multi-destination packages across the region with Belize. As a tourism marketing consultant, Mr. Perez also works with resorts in Belize in helping them to develop strategic marketing plans, create new tourism products and service and working toward the overall enhancement of the tourism product. In January 2025 Mr. Perez assumed the role of National President of the Belize Tourism Industry Association, Mr. Perez is currently engaged in revitalizing the local tourism industry in Belize given the many challenges that the local stakeholders are experiencing. In June of 2025 he also assumed as the Pro Tempore President of the Federation of Chambers of Tourism of Central America & the Dominican Republic (FEDECATUR).
